CLASSES AND WORKSHOPS
IMPROVable Cause was founded in 2005 by a group of local Pensacola actors and college students, many of whom still perform with the troupe today. Our original performance space for nearly 10 years was the now-defunct Silver Screen Movie Theatre until it unexpectedly closed before a show. Since 2014, IMPROVable Cause has proudly called Pensacola Little Theatre home. In addition to our monthly shows, we perform for fundraisers, festivals, conferences, conventions, and many other events in the Greater Pensacola Area. We also offer public workshops for any anyone who wants to learn the basics of improv comedy, and our junior troupe, Lab Rats, teaches teens all about improv performance in a specialized 12-week course. IMPROVable Cause also offers team-building sessions that use improv techniques to help empower employees in the workplace and build stronger team relationships. So, yeah, we do a lot.
Nicole Dickson, our founder, has since gone on to direct a separate entity, Improbable Cause Mystery Theatre, which performs at local restaurants in an interactive murder mystery show that allows audience members to play detective and solve the case.

IMPROVable Cause: Live! is a monthly improv comedy show in which our talented troupe of acting geniuses create astonishingly funny scenes and challenge each other in toe-to-toe competitions, all based on suggestions from you, the audience. Every scene, every line, every character, every accent is, well, improvised. There are no scripts, so each show is a truly unique, never-before-seen-never-seen-again experience! IMPROVable Cause: Live! is at 10:30pm on the first Saturday of every month at Pensacola Little Theatre, inside the Pensacola Cultural Center at 400 South Jefferson Street. Tickets for the next show are available through our calendar or at the Pensacola Little Theatre box office starting one hour before the show. In case the time frame wasn't an indication, we tend to delve into some adult content, so our shows are recommended for mature audiences only (okay, okay, "mature" might be a stretch).
IMPROVable Cause offers public workshops in which participants get a behind-the-scenes look at how we prepare for shows, all the while learning how to forget their fear, think on their feet, and go with the flow. Check out our calendar for upcoming workshops!
Improv isn't just for entertainment. Using the tools and techniques of improv in the workplace helps to refine communication, build trust, foster resilience and adaptability, and inspire creativity and confidence. Our team-building sessions are tailored specifically to your organization's needs, honing in on the skills you and your team wish to develop.
LAB RATS TEEN IMPROV TROUPE
Lab Rats is our junior improv troupe for middle and high schoolers. The curriculum is designed to stretch the problem-solving skills and creativity of kids, to help bring them out of their shells so they exude more confidence in person and on stage, and to sharpen their theatre skills overall. But don't tell them that; they just think they're playing games.
